Prayer: The First Work of Missions

Prayer is as natural as breathing for believers in India. And Indian Christians experience answered prayers so often that we frequently hear them say with confidence: "We prayed, so of course, God will do it!"

Many of India's 1 billion people are compelled to pray often to their gods—out of fear, not love. So imagine the freedom and joy for new Christians who are able to boldly approach the throne of God with even their smallest needs...knowing their Savior has already gone before them.

India's Christians are asking for your prayers...and they are relying on prayer to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit in communities across their nation.

Please join us as we pray each week for the many spiritual and physical needs of India.

How may we pray for you? If you have a prayer request you'd like to share, please send it to aimission@hotmail.com.

"I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24)

What prayers seem almost too big to ask? Let's be faithful to imagine and intercede for the "impossible" this week!

Prayer for India
-This month India celebrates its Independence Day and 65 years as a sovereign nation. Pray that India's citizens would experience true independence to choose to follow you without persecution or social pressure.

-Pray that many more children and families in India will welcome the Good News that you offer them with complete freedom from fear.

-There is great reason for rejoicing in Kolkata, in northern India! Four people recently declared their faith in Jesus publicly through baptism. We pray that the Lord Jesus would encourage these 4 to be faithful witnesses in their communities.

-Men, women, and children who believe in Jesus face many attacks from dark spiritual forces in India. Christians are threatened, beaten, rejected by local leaders, and arrested. Prayer that God would pour out
special measure of His grace in these situations as He protect believers and their families.

Pray that the Holy Spirit's presence be with Arnika. She has a special heart to start a women's ministry in the village of Shidaledola.

God is at work in India. Let's join Him!
