Dare to Do!

When we were children we would challenge each other to do some foolish thing, like jump off the roof of the front porch, with the saying “I double dare you.” Now as adults, I believe God is calling the church to attempt great things for Him.

So today, I would like to challenge you to dare to attempt something so great for the Kingdom of God that it is doomed to failure, unless Christ is in it!

-Try something so BIG, that you will fall flat on your face, unless God helps you and provides a way.

-Look for things that others would tell you are impossible. “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26)

-God is looking for those who are willing to do His bidding. Lean on the power of God, and not that of your own while realizing that all things are possible with Him.

-Look for unique opportunities to serve God. Think "outside the box." (His ways are not our ways).

-Are you supposed to lead a mission trip? Are you supposed to lead a Bible Study for children, adults or seniors? Are you supposed to develop your own Ministry? If God leads you to it, He will lead you through it. Learn how to listen to God's prompting and His will for your life.

-God has a unique purpose for you. (Jeremiah 29:11) God did not create you to be just one of the crowd. God has great plans for you and your life, giving you a hope and a future. Developing an attitude of discovery and openness to Him is the best way to learn where you are to be most effectively used, given the unique talents and desires He alone gave to you.

-Don't be afraid to ask for the Favor of a King (Nehemiah did it though he risked death). One of the best ways to discover if the path you are on is God’s desire is whether He grants favor along the way. God will bless and enable plans that are in accordance with his bidding, but you have to ask for favor.

-Be open to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Jesus prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done."  (Matthew 26:42)

It is normal, and ok, to be afraid, it is not ok to walk away. Jesus walked in our shoes and experienced everything we did, including fear. To face His fear, Jesus prayed, and after seeking God's will and strength followed with determination the path that had been planned for him.
