David states in Psalm 25:1, “To you,
O LORD, I lift up my soul…” Prayer is simply lifting up my soul to heaven and
surrendering my will to God. E. Stanley Jones writes, “Prayer is
surrender—surrender to the will of God and cooperation with that will. If I
throw out a boat hook from the boat and catch hold of the shore and pull, do I
pull the shore to me, or do I pull myself to the shore? Prayer is not pulling
God to my will, but the aligning of my will to the will of God.”
Praying is surrendering my will to
do His will…. May my prayer be just like my Savior’s prayer—yet not my
will, but Yours be done.

A Special Holiday Gift
During the next few months, Christians are going to spend
hundreds of millions of dollars buying gifts for people who don't need
anything—all in celebration of the birth of Christ.
Meanwhile, the one whose birth we celebrate, incarnated in
the "least of these" among His spiritual family around the world,
will continue to be hungry, drink contaminated water, live in inadequate
shelter, and in some cases, beg to survive. Is there anything wrong with this
picture?
I hope that this year you will consider taking an
opportunity to give a special gift that honors both your loved ones and Jesus.
You can contribute to any of Asia International Mission’s focused funds
(Bibles, Fresh Water Wells, Feeding and clothing Lepers & Widows, Funding
Evangelistic Meetings, Children’s Home) on behalf of those on your Christmas
list, and we’ll send them a gift card to let them know what you've done.
If donating online, please enter the name of the person
you’re honoring and their mailing address. Or send a check to:
Asia International Mission
PO Box 1597
Stillwater,

Please include a note with the name and address of the
person you’re honoring. Thank you and God bless you this Christmas season.
