Christmas and the “Cross”-over

In spite of the economic slow-down, the festivity of Christmas does not seem to lose its sense of anticipation and excitement. For some, it is just another  holiday, for others it means a booming business. A third group spends time in church or in their homes, remembering the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and what that means for a world searching in the darkness of sin. Christmas cannot be truly celebrated unless we keep the CROSS in focus.

The Lord Jesus Himself declared in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” (Luke 22:42) He knew that the Cradle was the only means by which He could reach the CROSS! He knew that His death on the CROSS was the only way sinners could CROSS-over from death to life!

What a Sacrifice! What a Savior!

Incidentally, Christmas and New Year are just a week apart, according to the Roman calendar. I believe that this is not a coincidence! God is not bound by time or space and yet, we know that with each passing year, many who committed their lives to the Lord during the Christmas season are challenged to live a new life and begin a brand New Year in the strength of the Lord. This happens in our mission fields. Please pray that as our people celebrate the “cradle” they will be transformed by the work of our Lord Jesus on the CROSS of Calvary and CROSS-over from death to life!

We plead with you to be committed in prayer especially during these two months because God has great things in store for us. Friends, as we Cross-over and make a brand new start, on behalf of the entire team of AIM, I wish each one of you a Blessed Christmas and a Glorious New Year 2012!

"You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." (Luke 1:31-33)

Merry Christmas,

2010 has been an amazing year for Asia International Mission. We pause and reflect on the goodness of God as we imagine the smiling faces of the people whom God has granted us the privilege of serving. The message of the Gospel has penetrated the darkness of their world with its beacon of hope. We rejoice knowing that many people in India will be celebrating their first Christmas as believers. Many more will be hearing from their village pastors about the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

We can also imagine the faces of children that will be learning the Christmas story as they attend their local church Christmas Pageants. All this was made possible by the generosity of our many friends. As we look toward the New Year, please considering giving a special gift so that our work with the lost and hurting of India may continue. Just click Here.
