World Hunger Day--October 9th

In 2010, Time Magazine reported that, "42% of the world's underweight children who are under the age of five live in India." According to the International Food Policy Research Institute India has more people suffering from hunger than any other country in the world.

India is long known to have some of the highest rates of child malnutrition and mortality in those under the age of five in the world.  In the face of such staggering statistics, it seems almost hopeless to try and make a difference in a country that so desperately needs food.

Nutrition experts say the terrible record is due to an inadequate access to food, poor feeding practices, and poor childcare practices in India. And now global food prices are on the rise without an increase in people's income, so food buying capacity has been reduced; making the situation even worse.

Working with the poor, and orphaned Dalits, AIM works to improve the lives of the Indian people. Please pray for our continued work among the Dalit people. If you would like to help make a difference in the life of a child or family by helping provide food, education, pure water wells, and the love of Christ, you can Donate Here. Remember, no matter how small or large a donation it goes a long way to help relieve the suffering of people.
